What schools say about Steve |
|
 |
| |
|
|
I have known Steve
Cunningham for about eight
years in my capacity as head
teacher of two state
secondary schools. Steve has
supported students in both
schools and proved to be an
inspiration and an excellent
role model for our young
people. His message of hope,
optimism, courage and
endeavour was something
which the young people who
were lucky enough to hear
him will never forget. |
| |
|
Steve is a frequent and very
welcome guest. Our students
without exception speak very
highly of him and love
meeting his guide dog,
Lynton. I consider Steve and
Blind Vision to be a very
important part of our
standards-raising strategy
and a true inspirer of young
people. I recommend him and
his services without
reservation. |

“Steve Cunningham kept an
audience of over three
hundred children and adults
spellbound as he recounted
his extraordinary story.
Steve managed to engage us
all with his humour, passion
and sense of determination.
One Year 6 girl said to me
afterwards, “I’m never going
to complain about anything
ever again.” A remarkable
man with a remarkable story. |

An enormous thank you for
your inspiring speech on 6
July. Your ability to
deliver a speech which
contains both gravitas and
humour struck a strong chord
with your audience. I am
confident that your words
and example will have made
many people realise that
their barriers are largely
self made, and that everyone
can reach their dreams if
they really want to. |

The workshops were brilliant
and students gained and
insightful experience of how
to overcome challenges, set
themselves goals and believe
they could really achieve
them. Steve is truly an
inspirational man who can
relate to students well as a
year group and on a small
group or individual basis.
Staff feedback included: The
best yet - fab." I would
recommend Steve as a source
of inspiration and
motivation to any Year group
in a school. |

Your speech, together with
the visual images on screen,
gave a powerful message to
our audience, and I am
pleased that so many of our
visitors managed to talk to
you after the prizegiving. I
know that one parent has
passed on her personal
thanks to you via the
school. The girls related
very well to you, and many
made the link between your
words and our Round Square
motto 'There is more in you
than you think.' |

I would like to thank you
for taking the time to visit
Hazeley recently. I feel it
was a wonderful and
successful day. The feedback
I have had is all positive.
Students and staff alike
learnt so much and were
inspired the day's events. |

Steve was the keynote
speaker at our Reception for
newly qualified teachers.
The theme for the evening
was 'Challenging Values,
Challenging Perceptions'.
Steve’s personal testimony,
supported by film of him
achieving some
world-record-breaking feats,
resonated well with the
teacher audience. |
| |
|
By the end of the evening,
the audience felt uplifted
and inspired, with many
commenting that this was one
of the best events they had
attended. Comments received
from teachers included:
"Keynote speaker fantastic",
"Excellent choice for this
event" and "Very empowering,
motivating and positive." |
